The Automotive Restoration Club will host monthly Workshops that cover many aspects of the process to build and restore an automobile. Below are a few of the topics ARC’s Workshops will include:
Choosing the right project car -
One of the most important steps in the restoration process happens before you start disassembly; it’s choosing the right car to start your journey on. This workshop will help you feel more confident in that first and critical step. Learn how to minimize financial pitfalls by buying the right project.- Carburetor tuning -
Carburetors can be tricky; this Workshop will help you understand how to maximize and tune carburetor engines with modern technology. - Metal forming -
We’ll introduce you to the sheet metal tools available and teach you the proper techniques to stretch, shrink and bump metal to repair panels and complete body work. - Painting -
Want to learn processes and techniques to create a show car finish? Then join us for a Workshop on auto painting which covers preparation, sanding techniques and even buffing to a mirror finish. - Restoration project management -
Establishing a plan and understanding the restoration process/sequential steps can save you time and money. From first-time restorers to long-time veterans, everyone will pick up some quick tips in this Workshop. - Upholstery -
Like welding or painting, many think upholstery work should be left to professionals. In this Workshop, you’ll learn how to completely restore your car’s interior to better-than-new conditions. Our step-by-step, hands-on instruction will allow you to take your newfound skills and re-upholster your car. - Welding -
We’ll cover the basics of MIG & TIG welding and share the advantages to using each type, including when and where each should be used. Members will walk away with the ability to repair a rusted quarter panel. - Wiring -
Some may chose to use factory wiring while others use custom, whatever your preference, learn the in’s and out’s of auto wiring in this Workshop.
But Workshops aren’t the only place to learn about automobile restoration at ARC! The Club will also offer an Annual Club Project car for Members to develop skills they will find valuable on their own automobile. The Annual Club Project will be taken through all aspects of the restoration process. Our Learning Lab, specially geared for Members who learn through reading and watching instructional videos, is a great way to pick up additional knowledge. Learning is also a function of being in an environment where Club Members, each with different skill-sets and backgrounds, lend a hand to one another!
